Following-on from the great success that was A Little, Aloud, we are very pleased to present an anthology of poems and stories to read and share aloud, with all of the extracts chosen especially to read with children and young people by staff from The Reader Organisation and compiled and edited once more by Angela Macmillan.
As you may have gathered, we are just a little bit excited about the launch of this new collection which features a foreword by giant of children’s literature, Michael Morpurgo, and brings together some of the best writing for children from past to present, in one wonderful book. There really is something within the book for children of all ages and backgrounds (and big kids can enjoy the selections too…) – from Dracula to The Jumblies, Moonfleet to the Moomins, Dickens to Roald Dahl, everyone will find something to read aloud and enjoy with parents, family members, carers and friends.
And that’s not all – did you know that the book has its very own site?! By going to alittlealoud.com, you can find out important information like: where you can buy your copy of A Little, Aloud for Children, what events and activities are being planned around the book, and general news on the exciting journey of this new book, as it sets sail among an ocean of readers.
But don’t forget – we want to hear from YOU, the readers! Once you have your copy of the book, and have delved-in to enjoy it, remember that you can share your thoughts, comments and stories with us in the ‘Your Comments’ section of the A Little, Aloud site. Tell us who you have been reading it with, where, and what your favourite bits are!
We look forward to hearing from you – happy reading!
